I like the Voltron part. Parker is an obvious reference to Mr. Mugniely's favourite comic book character, Mr. Peter Parker, the Spiderman.

Some of the best news I've seen in a long time:

http://www.physorg.com/news144940463.html

Hyah! Solar! Yah!

and then:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/nov/09/miniature-nuclear-reactors-los-alamos#history-byline

Mini nukes in your hood. Someday when your kid is getting roughed up in the hood, face pressed to the concrete, he might just absorb enough rads to mutate into something cool.

http://www.physorg.com/news146228725.html

family jewels found rotting in Yankee museum.

and one of my favourite topics:

Hard Core Engineering! http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/earth/4290084.html

Yeah! Read that last one while listening to some iron maiden, def leopard, or Alice Cooper!

yeah!

How did I only find out about this today? I mean, it's been like a week since it came out!

This is a crazy urban paragliding video - they are using powered paramoters - like a lawnmower on your back.
these moves.

Adam - I think this is Jeungpyeong?? Some very interesting architecture.

Yup, that's here in Seoul. I recognized the Hanam bridge, and can clearly identify those apartments as being Korean. Which ones, no idea, there are thousands of those buildings lined up like dominoes, patiently waiting for their thirty seconds of love from Godzilla.

was that you and Kim riding those mowers?

that's funny, I read the article posted by adam about Master Legend yesterday, then last night I was reading a book called "who will save us now?" a collection of short stories about super heroes. one of the stories I read last night was called "my interview with the avenger" about a guy who runs around in a ski mask fighting crime. the story mentioned Captain Jackson, who was also mentioned in the article about Master Legend and several other "heroes" listed on the World Super Hero Registry.

http://www.worldsuperheroregistry.com/world_superhero_registry_gallery.htm

The Master Legend interview was really great, sad but great. his life would make a great movie, although I'm sure that hollywood would insist on making it a comedy, probably starring Will Farrell.

I almost hate to say this, but there was a lot to identify with the master legend story. The frustration, the anger, the seething cauldron of boiling emotions just under the surface, that unspoken need to just start doing things about it, instead of thinking.

That giddy joy of throwing caution to the wind, taking a social bull by the horns, and beating the snot out of it in an alley, all the while being cheered on by the cops.

It made me pause, and wonder how many people in North America also identify, and to what extent. There's a social network or superheroes now on the internet? Trading secrets of homemade weaponry???

Amazing robots from Israel:

one's a snake, for seeking out the enemies of freedom in caves and such not:

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1244371047887&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

some funny looking video there.

the other is a microbot for burrowing into YOU. Ostensibly, to perform surgery from the inside.

http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/discoblog/2009/05/26/the-tiny-robot-that-can-crawl-through-your-veins%E2%80%94and-treat-your-tumors/

Yes......

these Terminators will be harder to smash, unlike the one inside R2D2. We smashed him good.

Don't know if I posted this before, but this is one of my favourite things on the internet and deserves to be here. Yes, this is an audio recording of President Lyndon Johnson shaking down a company for free pants.

In other news, a dark angel whispered facts into my ear one sun shine filled summer day, concerning radio waves, and how they can be used to transmit internet. I know a guy who's begun a massive summer downloading campaign of tv shows and movies for future watching should the legal situation become a little stickier in the months ahead. And after that, I guess you just use your neighbor's wifi instead of your own connection.

yes indeed, there are real dangers afoot in this consultation process.

fortunately, a minority government makes it difficult to pass controversial legislation. unfortunately, the next in line (Ignatieff) is more beholden to more restrictive copyright law than is Jon Bon Harper.

this blog is authored by probably the most informed and informative person in the country on this very subject...Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-Commerce Law:

you may or may not find a user on the PPoC site by that goes by the handle "S. Byers"...i haven't visited the site in a couple weeks now, but they seem to be a bit disorganized for the moment (or were).

i think that these niche parties have little hope of accomplishing anything in the political realm, but are usually set up to be a PR vehicle (see: Green Party of Canada).

it would help if a Canadian were to get shaken down for piracy like the MPAA or RIAA does to the poor citizens of the US from time-to-time.

I have discovered a website called "instructables"

I discovered while reading this story: http://gizmodo.com/5425068/best-man-pranks-newlyweds-by-connecting-their-bed-to-twitter?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+gizmodo%2Ffull+%28Gizmodo%29&utm_content=Google+Reader about a best man who put a sensor system on the newlyweds bed to tweet when there was action on the bed.

he got the idea from this guy: http://www.instructables.com/id/The-Twittering-Office-Chair/ who set up his office chair to tweet his farts.

which led me to the main page of instructables: http://www.instructables.com/ which seems to have some pretty impressive stuff.......
